Boat Tour: Crocodile Island

This was the first destination on that boat tour I described in the previous post. The boatmen and the Country Inn front desk staff were so eager that I go on this tour. I asked: "what's in Crocodile Island"? Answer: "ah eh, wala lang, photo-op". I just smiled back learning that there's really nothing here. But "photo-op" is good enough for me!

I did notice from the map, that this little island is along the way of the boat's itinerary anyway. So why not, coconut?! Sige na nga, sige na lang! Go go go!

The boat took 27 minutes from Country Inn By The Sea...

So, there we were, at Crocodile Island! Now what?! I even joked saying "Wow, oo nga there is nothing here"! At least my two boatmen were not "pikon". They gamely volunteered to take pictures of me on this island haha! Pictorial daw!

There, a boatload of fellow tourists coming to also see "wala lang"...

Actually, depending on who you are, your convictions or your interests, meron naman "to see" or "experience" on this island. For one, see the sand and the sea, nice view, di ba?!

And the rock... this is the main feature, the reason why this is called an island...
craggy rocks and cliffs at Crocodile Island, Sta. Ana Cagayan
Because at high tide, nothing but this big rock is seen as a tell tale that this is an island. All the sand you see in the pictures above disappear into the ocean at high tide.

While it is true that this is such a small island with nothing, that rock is actually big and tall enough for those who want to scale it and reach the wide flat top. No not me said the dog hahaha! Kayo na lang, iyong iyo na! Its too steep for me.

There was also a dude I saw on top of this rock flying his drone. You can even see that drone on the pic above (the white dot at the top edge of the photo). How did he go up there? Ganito kasi yan...

On the other end of that rock, it is much lower, so you can easily climb up there!
Those are kids (yes, boys and girls) with their fathers and uncles about to also start flying their drones over at the flat top portion of this rock.

Pwede na for the adventurous ones. Even for whatever pictorials and pre-nuptials.
Warning and reminder though: there is literally no shade nor shed on Crocodile island. No trees. And remember that you are still in Cagayan, the hottest summer in the Philippines. So, bring water and umbrellas if you intend to stay more than 10 minutes out there.

I was there for only about 15 minutes, and it was not even 830AM yet. Mainit!
