Kimberly Garden Grill, Sogod

A nice enough joint for a cool nightout - I could imagine most especially during the dry breezy summers. This place has got a long name: "Kimberly Garden Grill and Resto Bar". I peeped-in to check the place out, as my driver went inside Syshore to check us in hehe!

This is just beside Syshore Beachfront Hotel, the hotel where I stayed overnight. This was actually the first thing I saw as we approached the hotel. Signage on the side of the street is clear, but you still walk or drive going inside to a wide lawn before you reach the building. I thought this was part of the hotel or had the same owner. But they're not.

Those two pictures above, I snapped them when the place was not yet open...

But how convenient. After my hefty dinner at Syshore, I just had to walk next door for some music and drinks, and see the Sogod night crowd hehe! Unexpectedly fun place.

Look! And compare this to the first photo above. It's the same place but cooler at night!

See the left edge of this picture? I didn't know you can actually request tables or just chairs laid out on this 'parking area' to enjoy your night al fresco under a big talisay tree!

As the night went deeper, I saw people just sitting on their parked motorbikes as they enjoyed their drinks! Some preferred staying inside, up close to the singers. Yes, meron!

There are bands doing regular sets. And in-between, or when a band is having a break, anyone can go up that stage and croak the night away haha! Audience participation ba!

Well, when the music starts pumping, anyone can also wiggle it out on the floor!

Complete with all lighting effects for you to enjoy swaying writhing jumping thumping slithering on the floor! This photo is the same as above, but with the 'dancing lights' on!

See this? I told you, anyone can groove it out on the floor anytime they like...

The fun part is you can be as casual as you like to be, even with your shorts or 'sinelas'! Oh, do you see that TV screen on the upper right edge of the photo? Those are the songs lined up for/by the public to sing on stage, after the dancing subsides! That's "for free"!

There are enough nooks for groups big and small who need a little togetherness epek!

There's even that loft in one corner, complete with loungy-loungy sofas and whatevers!

I also liked the crowd here. It's a merry mix of the alta-sociedad down to BCDEFGHIJK!

Ah, as I enjoyed the breezy outside, I got to talk to the owner of this place. He is a doctor from Tacloban who has been destined in this town. Yes yes, a Medical Doctor, as in MD, as in Manggagamot! His only motivation for putting this up was/is: he could not go home to Tacloban that often, to enjoy his usual nightouts. So he created fun in Sogod.

Adto man! Kumikitang kabuhayan na, marisyo pa! So good in Sogod! M'uli pa ka?!
