Sunrise Under the Moon at Tacloban Airport
While I generally don't like them, there are advantages of riding on early morning flights. Today was a good example. I flew on the 5AM Cebu Pacific flight from Cebu to Tacloban. That is why I had to stay at Waterfront Mactan for the night, so I can wake up a bit late (3:30AM at the latest) and just walk to the airport. Parusa kung tutuusin. But sometimes, as they say, we have to do what we gotta do, right?
It was generally uneventful - woke-up, took a bath, checked-out, walked to the airport, walked to the waiting area, boarded the plane, fastened my seatbelt, plane take-off, arrived after 25 minutes, and..,
Sunrise! Wow! Mesmerizing! I stood still on the tarmac a few seconds just looking at it. Why the fuss?Ah well.., it is not everyday that we see a fascinating sunrise like that.., and it is not everyday the clouds become too generous like that! Especially Eastern Visayas.., Sus, this is where clouds like to hang-out!
Look! Mr. Kapitan Pilot was already inspecting his "edroplano" if still okay for the return flight to Cebu! While Mr. Sun Adlaw kept inching his way up. To each his own, wala silang pakialaman! Me too, I just stood a bit more looking at the exquisite colors of the horizon. Mr. Pilot even said to me "ganda 'no"?!
Until I was driven away by ground personnel! They told me another plane just landed, it was coming in to park at where I stood. Yeah, I know, there are times in the morning or evening that this small tarmac has 4 planes all in a row - that's maximum I hear. When is that expansion ever going to finish anyway?!
Hey, those jolly wide-awake youngsters also took pics of the sun when they saw me doing so!They were at that time posing with the sunrise (and me, yehey!) as background! Photobummer ako!
One more shot! Ayan na si Tupaz, PAL aircraft marshal, already positioned for his plane's arrival!Yep, I could see the PAL plane was already about to enter this tarmac. Ah, si Tupaz? No I do not know him. Ayan sa sleeve ng shirt nya o, his surname is printed! His colleagues were already driving me out!
Okay okay.., so I proceeded to the arrival area and out since I do not have checked-in luggage! At this point, I could already see my driver waiting at our fave tambayan, I was sure naghihikab pa yun eh 5:53AM pa lang! But what a sight when I looked up! The moon still up and bright! Wow, uncommon!
Uncommon for me, since I do not go out and about this early in the morning. But that was a wonderful phenomenon for me. I shot the sun rising so beautifully, and I shot the moon still high shining brightly!
A wonderful morning!
But wait.., on our way to V&G, I also saw religious activities in San Jose like I did in Surigao Del Sur..,It is not a procession too, but surely a religious activity. And I think there's no church in the area where they are facing. What day was it today? Ah, Saturday = Sabado De Gloria! But what could they doing?
Still in San Jose, Tacloban City.., here is another group that we passed-by. Some are even kneeling..,I also think there's no church there. I don't see this activity in V&G, my apartment is near the church.
Anyway, still a wonderful morning! Did you notice the moon is in the last two pictures too?!
I only have to grab a few things in Tacloban then immediately zoom off to Eastern Samar! Let's go!
