Thrills And Chills In The Air

This is Part 6 of the Sights & Scenes On My Iloilo To Cebu To Tacloban Flights.

Pushback: Iloilo
Okay, so we departed at 11:16AM. Yes, "departed" as in abante agad since this was a small plane on an empty tarmac. No need for a tow truck to push our plane away!
taxiing out of the iloilo international airport towards the runway
By the way, there was something I noticced with our schedule, though I didn't bother much about it. My ticket said 1120H, the gate TV said 1140H, yet we left 1116H. Ta!

Takeoff: Iloilo
This meant I would be arriving in Cebu even ahead than I expected (1210H). Yey!

1118H the plane was already positioning for takeoff at Runway 02. Looking great!

Thrills & Chills
I was seated right-side window of the plane, and at 1123H, I was above Leganes.

Directly below me (foreground of photo) are brackish aquaculture farms of UPV near the Jalaur River. Far right is Iloilo city proper. Ahead (middle of picture) is Guimaras.

Not long after Skytreats were served. They had to rush, this is a quick flight hehe!
inflight snacks and a very small Absolute Bottled Water
That's 90gms of Goldilock's Mocha Marble Slice, plus that little bottle of Absolute!

They reached me first, before a very strong turbulence sent the plane bouncing!

That's our stewardess who had to buckle herself down at Seat 5C due to the bumpy ride. The food trolley awaits on the aisle. I didn't see where the other crew sat down!

Then we were above Bacolod City! Of course, most prominent is the Bacolod Port.

If you are familiar with that city, you should be able to identify some of the buildings and places. Like I could see SM City and SMX Convention Center - even Ayala Malls!

I could even still see the city's old runway! It's near the middle-right of the picture.

Then there was the peak of Kanlaon Volcano being hidden by a shroud of clouds.

It's that dark spot in the very middle of the picture. This time of day (noon) would've been the best to view the peak of that volcano, but the clouds were aplenty. Sayang.

Better luck next time. I've seen it before anyway, in 2016/05, 2017/08 and 2018/11. But I'm not yet that satisfied. I know, therefore I hope, one fine day, I'll catch it clear!

Buti pa ang Sipaway Island. Every time I pass above it and look, I can see it clearly!

Then we dove into even more clouds! This was a very rough tsugudugudug!
thick white clouds
There were also high and low sudden swings! I even wondered if this plane wouldn't ever disintegrate in this raging ride! My consolation: wala pa naman yatang ganoon!

I could hear loud Hail Mary's again. No choice, we were descending. And voila!

Once we were past the main island of Cebu, when this airplane reached Cebu Strait (between Cebu & Bohol), everything suddenly became calmer & clearer. Buti nalang!

Hah, that was some rock 'n roll in the air. Whew!

Okay okay, let's land na. There are interesting thins I saw.

Next yan. Pramis!
