Mika's Gapo Beach Resort To Downtown Gamay
Time to stroll around Gamay's town center. But first this, at 6:36AM still at Mika's:Already much different from my 'morning has broken' views more than an hour ago!
I didn't know I was riding that van at left, c/o Sonny (the resort's manager), because yesterday, his son gave me a ride to town (to buy lunch) on board their own scooter.
Free rides but nakisabay lang. They were really going to town anyway!
Is it far?
Is 'downtown' far from Mika's Gapo Beach Resort or Marcela's Resort Hotel? I guess it is more than 2 kilometers, the first 2 of which, is on a highway along empty fields!
Why not walk?
Empty vast fields nga on both sides of the highway. It's lonely and might even be...
Well, there's the New Gamay Terminal, and after some distance, the Gamay Doctor's Hospital, but they're both "in the middle of nowhere". Civilization is at Gamay Bridge!
Yeah, alive moving things only start at Gamay River, which is already poblacion! There. Thanks to google maps, I am able to illustrate the distance. Yellow arrows at right, to yellow arrow at left. There's nothing much until you reach the river & bridge.
That's why I didn't dare walk that short distance to poblacion! Maybe next time when this part of the highway starts to hum with people and activities. I know it will. Soon!
Short distance for me, since I'm used to walking when there are many things to see or do! But when there's nothing but an 'ex-ricefield' left and right, I would rather ride!
Yes, kasi.., what if biglang umulan? Or mainit ang araw? Where do I carefully lay my nectarous hunky body down? And, alas-sais-something pa lang, what if din kung me nag-overtime na kadanggaban at ako ang nahimurangtan? Sayang naman my lawas!
Hoy, in many of my stories, I have been harping (or at least insinuating) that I do not really 'believe' in spirits, multo, aswang, guban-on, ongo, tiktik, diri-kinikita, et cetera!
But what if they are true? Aber? Bakit kailangan ako ang maunang masampolan? At bakit hindi nalang ikaw? Ayan na nga yung isa nasa likod mo o! Hahaha, nakikibasa!
On a real-world scenario, wouldn't there be muggers, criminals along the way? Wala ngang tao eh! Why would those jerks operate here? Di na-zero sila! Still I won't walk!
Real-world scenario pa more... what if you felt ill along that 2kms stretch of nothing but nothing. Or wild attacking cobras! No human would see or hear you scream. Da!
Oy, there are even no trees nor hills. Just vast fields but, we'll never know...
That's why I needed a ride. Good that Sonny was going downtown, that early.
Haruuy, 3 or 4 minutes lang. I was at the church na!
Let's talk about it next.
