Jimbaran Beach: Afternoon Chill

Afternoons are purportedly the best times on Jimbaran Beach. It's that time of day, when tourists and locals alike, flock to the open-air restaurants on the fine white sand. They come to chill under colorful skies during sunset. That relaxed-to-often-euphoric vibe goes all the way until evening to late at night.

I walked the beach in the morning, and I liked it, so it was time I witness the dazzling dusk display!

Emerging out of Intercontinental Bali Resort, looking left, this is the usual 'curious' afternoon view..,
It might seem plain, even humdrum to the uninitiated eye, especially from such a distance. But I think, that simplicity is what pulls the crowds to this strip of beach. No frills, therefore everything is cheaper.

Mind you, at the other end of this not-so-long strip of bustle, you can see that locals are pouring in!
While not as jampacked as Kuta, the number of parked vehicles will tell, Jimbaran has a "following"!

People generally come to enjoy that breezy sunset atmosphere.., for many foreigners.., it is romantic!
I particularly liked watching that pair.., they were so sweet to each other.., telling sweet nothings.., just enjoying a wonderful vacation together.., probably a memorable companionship.., Hay abaw kailila ah!

Families also have a time of their lives here.., the younger ones safely wading in the shallow waters..,
The active older kids were out riding the waves. Some were up in the air paragliding. Ah THE vacation!

Samantala.., nasaan ako? Eto, namimili pa kunwari kung ano ang tutungga-in at hihithitin hehehe..,
Eh parang halata naman kung ano sa mga iyan ang titirahin, di ba?! Lower left corner, wala nang iba!

28K.., about a hundred pesoses, pwede na! Malalaki ang bote nila by the way, 500ml yata yan..,
Note there's a kind of 'warning' at the bottom: bawal daw uminom under 21 years old at mga buntis.

Yung yosi pala, nag-increase na! At 25K per pack, that means mga P90. Lang! Sa atin kasi lampas 100 na! And take note, nasa tourist area na yan. Mas mura pa kung sa mga tindahan o sa 7Eleven ka bibili!

This was my pulutan that I never really got to touch that much. I like light breads in the afternoons..,
Sosyal ba? Ulitin natin "I like light breads in the afternoons".., o di ba? Light breads.., tinapay sa Julie's bakeshop ba! an tikang ha Quality Bakeshop! yes, yung tinapay dun sa panaderya sa kanto! Yun nga!

Hey I have another trivia: even if Indonesia is the world's largest muslim country, in Bali, I could easily find pork in many restaurants' menus, compared to anywhere in Malaysia's Penang and/or Langkawi!

Ah, eto cute.., pag namula na ang kapaligiran, you'll notice people keep getting up from their seats..,

Pictorial to da max na! Kanya-kanyang shooting, kanya-kanyang posing! Hala bira!

Iba-ibang lahi, maputi man o kayumanggi, tahimik man o tumitili, iisa ang gawi.., "posing na diha lagi"!

Aba oyyy, hindi ako magpapahuli.., syempre piniktyuran ko rin yung nagbabagang kalangitan!

Meron din namang mga nag-iinit at nagpapa-init na mga katawan.., aba langit din yan hahaha!

When I looked again.., OMG, the beach was teeming with a sea of humanity!

And that's how the interesting afteroon chill on Jimbaran goes on.., everyday!

Aw. chill ba 'kamo? Don't chill in fear if I tell you that, I was in fact seated, enjoying my beer at the very place where one of the two bombs exploded in 2005! Well, that was more than a decade of long ago!

These days, Jimbaran is (still) peaceful and quiet. It somehow still retains its 'feel' of being the fishing village of note in Bali. That is despite the modern commercial touristic developments here and there.

Locals still flock to many of its seafood restaurants, especially those tables that just suddenly sprout on the beach during the evenings.., gone at midnight, and are nowhere to be found during the daytime!

I like this place..,
