It Happened Again On CNN?

Do you remember my earlier observation about a CNN Philippines Broadcast that I took a picture of? I kind-of justified the error for whoever wrote the ticker news, right? But in less than a month eto uli?
Aba hijo/hija... ang ganda ng gising ko this morning, tapos pinatawa nyo ako, lumabas sa ilong ko ang salabat! Abaaa.., malapit na ako ma-disappoint sa CNN Philippines ah! Ayusin nyo yan! Umayos kayo!

Analysis? Wala, hindi lusot, jologs!

I have a feeling, the staff writing those captions isn't Ybanag nor Ilokano. But a Pinoy doesn't have to be Ybanag/Ilokano to know how various provincial names in the Philippines are spelled - like Isabela.

It is not just mere knowledge, it is most importantly out of respect for a person or place, that we must know the correct name spelling (even pronunciation) at the very least of the 80+ Philippine provinces.

Many say, the sweetest sound to a man's ear is his name. It's the same with names of places where we all come from. Say / write it incorrectly, you lose the trust of the people who feel wronged. How many folks do you think would be offended by such an error that you at CNN might even consider as trivial?

Marami yan. Hindi lang ang mga taga-Isabela. Isa na ako. It is Isabela with a single "L", not Isabella!

You mispelled it not once, but twice! Proof that it was not "slip of the finger". Di mo talaga alam!

Well, you can say "tao lang, nagkakamali". Oo naman, especially in such a stressful work environment as broadcasting. Rush lahat yan. But there is a solution to that, umalis ka sa environment na yan, and find work somewhere else that does not require you to spell names correctly AT ALL TIMES, like CNN.

Example: mag-blogger ka na lang! Here you can make mistakes all the time, di lang sa spelling and/or grammar, pati na sa content, at coherence ng sasabihin. Okay lang yan. Wag kang sa CNN masisira sila! Example pa rin: itong blog ko, ang daming mali, but who cares, I only have 1.16 million readers who all know that I'm no journalist nor writer nor globally respected news organization. Kwentutero lang ako!

Your simple errors (yes plural na), affect our trust, therefore respect of CNN, a reputed organization.

Kung hindi ka natatakot sa scenario na yan, how about mahiya ka man lang?

Hay ang kabataan ngayon! Pinag-aral kasi ng kung anu-anong course, clerical naman ang papasukin!

Pwede rin "hiring error" yan or "job mismatch". Hello HR! espeling ng probinsya, di alam!
