YMCA Singapore International House (2 of 2)
Good Morning!
This is the last morning of the year, yey! Let's continue last night's topic - the "YMCA @ One Orchard".
As I said last night, I chose this hotel as it is just literally a few steps away from the national museum, that I needed to visit today, since I have a lunch meeting somewhere in there, with a good old client.
Anyway, you may have already known, this is an old building that's already part of the recorded history of Singapore! Why? Ah, you can go to the museum for that (I'm going there later, yey), or go search the world wide web for quicker info! Seryoso yan, this building and location is both historic and historical!
Old as it may be however, the hotel maintains its clean and no-frills atmosphere. Yes it is devoid of the bling blings and jaw-dropping whatevers at luxury hotels. This does not also have the instagrammable art deco ek-ek of many boutique hotels nor the eclectic vibe of crowded backpacker hotels all over SG
At least, it has free breakfast comparable to those of budget hotels! Ang walang kamatayang sausage haha! Yep, when you reach the "breakfast buffet", you'd feel like you are at a Holiday Inn Express Hotel (HIE). Oh well, at least, me katulad, di ba?! On this picture below, the lady is replenishing the middle of three chafing dishes that contain the breakfast mains - egg, sausage, mixed veggies. Yun palagi yun!
Seriously, the 'come-on' to this hotel are 1) Cleanliness. Ang seryoso kaya nung matatandang cleaning staff! Di sila ngumingiti o babati sayo unless inunahan mo! Linis lang ang inaatupag; and, 2) Proximity to Orchard Road (and nearby streets up to Bras Basah and Bencoolen areas). Address pa lang, panalo na: 'One Orchard Road' or No. 1 Orchard Road, Singapore! This is the start of the famed road, and you can walk the whole stretch all the way to ION Orchard or beyond, if you want. Mga 2kms yan, kapoy oi!
Pwede di ba?!
Okay, here are more pics of my room:
Hindi hospital.., hotel.., HOTEL nga! Umayos ka!
O tara na, let's make pasyal na!

This is their smoking area, by the roadside, and nearer to the Singapore National Museum |

Of course there is always congee (lugaw, hindi arroz caldo), cereals, juice, coffee, bread, butter, jam. |
