Toyoko Inn Cebu - Second Stay

Last month, I said something like I'll be back. Thus, three days ago I came back, and I just checked-out this morning. Same Toyoko Inn, but a new & different experience.
Ayos ba picture ko? J-Mall is so wide I couldn't shoot a photo of all of it from side to side. So I tinkered with my phone's 'panoramic' settings. Ayan, curved si AS Fortuna!

Pati ang linya ni VECO o! Sosyala! Nagliko without a post! O ha?! You have that?!

But you get the drift, right? I just wanted to show a perspective of where Toyoko Inn is perched on. That part of the building where and what UG, 2F, 3F, 4F and 5F is. Na!

I checked-in anyway, to a bigger room called Deluxe Twin C, whatever that means.
I'd say this one was same width but twice the length. Hmm, how does that happen?

How can this room be longer than what I had last month? I would understand wider, but this one, a puzzle! Eh pantay at derecho naman lahat ang hallways ng hotel. Ibig sabihin the outer walls/windows are not even? In the first pic above, pantay naman!

Ahh, palaisipan! Naglo-loading pa ang utak ko!

Here are more shots of this, my present "long" and definitely more spacious room.
Two big beds plus a dining table (for four) all for only me, myself, and I. At just P200 difference from the King Double Room (whatever that means) that I had last month!

How did this wonderfully weird situation happen anyway? Aw... late booking again. I only booked my flights and room the night before I left. And this, was the least I got!

However, discovering the meager rate difference between a 'King Double Room' and this one, I'd probably be reluctant to look at their other 'smaller' rooms in the future!!

But that topic is/was not even my "new & different experience" mentioned above.

A View From The Top!
It was this that made me say this was a "new & different experience"...
My 14th floor room was directly above the big swimming pool of Sky Water Park. Ye! Look at the 2 round sun-loungers at right. Parang nahiya ako to look at them heheh!

Structures you see are mostly roofs of resting/eating areas, and the swim-up bar on foreground. Waterslides and other waterpark stuff are at upper-right-edge of photo.

You have seen this in my previous story, right? The youngsters' favorite. This one:
That fun thing is one of a kind in Cebu (probably even all of Visayas and Mindanao). They say it is the only waterpark up in a building. Well, I have not heard of any other.

At 6PM, loud party music started thumping from down there. Napatingin ako...
Hmm, I heard a DJ talking about a 'Foam Party' and a 'Philippine Folk Dance Show'. Not clear if it was to be 'tonight' or schedules of some other days at this waterpark.

But about 7PM, I heard something, so I ran back to my window and watched this...

Oh, so there are days of the week when they hold a dinner party down at the pool. I could hear the DJ muttering things about tickets and inclusions. I think that is cool.

Since I heard it announced, I anticipated the folk dance show of the next evening...

Even if I was up at the 14th floor, and could only see the performances "top view", I think that show is a good enough introduction to our culture, especially for tourists.

Oh, I earlier said I always get rooms facing east. This time I tried the west - for this:
Not too dramatically good for me hehehe. I expected that though. The western side of Cebu City is made up of mountains, so the sun starts hiding when it is still bright.

But I realized that kind of sunset created this interesting 'artwork' in my room's wall!
I always love seeing that wash of (morning or afternoon) sunlight inside homes. And that one, was not even direct. It was just being reflected (refracted?) by my window.

That was a realization though. From a high vantage in Mandaue (e.g., tall buildings), Cebu City's skyline is better viewed in the morning. Like what these two were doing!
Sino sila? Diko alam. They just appeared as I smoked at the terrace after breakfast.

Oh breakfast? Yes I also tried it during this visit, and nilanghap ko lang yung kape.
Now as I write this, I just remembered, that I failed to take a picture of the "breakfast crowd". Yep, as in andaming people, na karamihan (again?) ay mga wakanga groups!

Hehehe, baka naman isipin nyo mainit talaga ang ulo ko sa mga wakanga groups na yan! May I just tell you na... in fact, and indeed! Because wherever they are, magulo!

FYI too, as a frequent traveler, I encounter a lot of other Chinese people, and almost all of them (kapag hindi grupo na galing sa mainland) are well behaved naman, just like other travelers (tourists or business-people) from all corners of our planet earth!

Oo na, many of you told me, that these "wakanga groups" are "mga taga-bundok" or "walang pinag-aralan", therefore mga walang modo. Problem is: they're everywhere!

And it's not only you or me. Pati gobyerno nila (pati si ping-ping-ping?) naiinis na!

Haay anyway (ba't ba ako napunta sa topic na yan eh Toyoko lang naman ang subject natin!), so far another good experience at Toyoko Inn Cebu. I think there'll be more.

Oh, this time I didn't take their shuttle. But let's tell that in another story.

Happy travels and stays!
