Holiday Villa Langkawi

Holiday Villa Beach Resort and Spa Langkawi - that's the real name or official name of this place! But many people, including their staff, call it just Holiday Villa Langkawi. This is not related to Holiday Inn!
That's their entrance, as we were about to enter it from Teluk Baru Road, just 16 mins from the airport.

Like many good resorts, Holiday Villa has a spacious entrance foyer leading to a lobby/check-in area.
And like many resorts in Southeast Asia, the ambiance here also evokes a feel of the local culture. Ah, this one reminds me of the entrance foyer at Intercontinental Bali Resort. Though they're "not related"!

Look! The drop box for guest comments is an old wooden mail box reminiscent of yesteryears!
And the top of the trash-bins, which are actually ashtrays, also have sand-art logo - me kalachuchi pa!

We arrived hungry, so the staff ushered us to their restaurant with nice surroundings, called Lagenda!
Birds could freely fly in and out of the open side dining area, which adds to the charm of the place.

Hey look at their placemat! It's made of paper, but has a colored advertisement of their hotels/resorts!
Isn't that nice? I came to know they're Malaysian but have many hotels and resorts in many countries!

Our food took 20 minutes. Here, the sizzling beef with spring onions was just about to sizzle..,
Waiter pours sauce to the 'hot plate' away from your dining table so you don't 'suffocate' in the smoke! At nang hindi rin mangamoy ulam ang suot, kagamitan, buhok, at buong seksi katawan mo. Magaling!

Here they are.., "Sizzling Beef with Spring Onions" (MYR34.90) and "Boombo Chicken" (MYR26.90)!
Plus (free) 2 cups of rice, Coke (MYR12.90) and Fresh Lemon Juice (MYR17.90) = MYR92.60 incl. tax!

Mahal kung tutuusin. Pero sige na lang.., gutom na eh!

This is how the lobby looks at night - viewed from the entrance foyer..,

There are other things you can do or see in the evening, but we had dinner and night-out somewhere!

Anyway, this is a luxe resort, but they do have an "Ironing Room" (do it on your own) open 24H a day!
We had fun trying this thing out (walang kabayo)! I was terrified I might burn my clothes or the resort!

Hey, I lost a lot of pics of the room and other areas. They were accidentally erased from my phone..,
That one was saved. That's at the breakfast buffet and it says "Foul Madamas". Parang Pork & Beans!

Anyway, many exits lead to the swimming pool and beach areas, so there was always easy access.

This resort has the biggest pools (yes, plural, there are two) on the entire Pantai Tengah beach strip!
However, even as hotel guest, you pay to enter the other pool (LaVilla Pool Club) behind that building.

Call it weird, but the thing we enjoyed most was walking back and forth on this pebble path..,
The sign says "WALK BAREFOOTED AND ENJOY A HEALTHY MASSAGE", so we did! And it felt good!

Where there is no pool or building, the place teems with tree-dotted grassy plains facing the beach..,
Another chill place to hang around - alone or with family, friends and lovers - especially that there's the resort's 'Tropical Beach Bar' just nearby. Staff happily walk around to take or deliver orders. Coolness!

Considering everything we saw and experienced, it was a good stay at Holiday Villa.
