Radisson Blu Cebu Hotel
I've blogged about this 5-star hotel a long time ago, when it was still new. And I have been checking-in here from time to time, for many years now. Then one of you my dear readers, asked for an update. So while I can say it's still the same Radisson Blu as before, I better show you pictures instead of stories!
Thus.., here we go on a Radisson Blu Cebu Hotel Photo Album hahaha!
Entering the room after check-in:
This is Room 1501, a corner room that I specifically requested for more window views!
My view on the north-facing window. That is Bayfront Hotel across the big parking lot.
You can see the big light-blue MyBus and their station inside the parking lot.The row of white cars at left are regular taxis lining up to SM City's "Entrance/Exit 5" - Radisson Blu.
Looking east to the Mactan Channel, the view is mostly part of Cebu International Sea Port. Not clear in the picture, but I could see clear with my own eyes, the two Mactan-Mandaue Bridges.
Lower right is the hotel's swimming pool. Foreground is Radisson's famous "Urban Table".
Back at Room 1501, this was my desk. Dun sa nagtatanong, hindi pwede i-uwi lahat yan! In fact...In what you see, only 1] the ballpen and writing pad, not da lalagyan of da pad ha; 2] the black posporo above the phone; and 3] stationery & envelopes inside the 'menu book' - can be brought home for free!
The "Room Service Menu Book" is that leatherette book on the right. Eto eto, look, I had it opened.Ang pwedeng gamitin/sulatan o i-uwi lamang, are those stationeries and envelopes sa kaliwa. Not the pages ng room service menu sa kanan ha?! Yun lang. Nothing else. Paka-tandaan yan. Wag kang ano!
Here's a close up of the writing pad and the vincard or the room's card key... sila ang pwede i-uwi!Yes, in Radisson, like many 5-star hotels, they do not care about that key-card once you check-out. Iyo na yan! They consider that as a give-away (souvenir ba)! It's a "marketing tool" - for those in the know!
I like their electrical plugs, universal. And all switches are big and visible - easy to find and reach!
Here's the coffee and condiments corner. Madami rin pwedeng i-uwi from here hehehe! Like the sugar, coffee, tea, creamer, all kinds, kahit ilan pa yan, at kahit i-uwi mo pa yung plastic na pang-halo (stirrer).Warning: Huwag naman yung 'electric kettle' - yung mukhang thermos.
By the way, any food or drinks not listed in the price-list is free - and if you look closely, walang free!
Anyway, I particularly like this one-of-a-kind luggage rack. It resembles a sidewalk yosi vendors' box!
All doors hallways and passages are of big heavy wood with enough space, not cramped.
Ample cabinets and shelves - as if naman titira ako ng panghabang-panahon sa kuwartong ito haha!
Me palansa, me kabayo, me pang-shine, me calsador, but if you put shoes on that brown tray, kukunin nila at dadalhin sa housekeeping office nila para doon linisin at i-shine. For free. Libre. Walang bayad!
Me payong, me flashlight for emergencies, and the white sack sa gitna is a hair dryer. Huwag i-uuwi!The blue slippers are give-aways. Sige isaksak na sa maleta yan! Yes, even that laundry bag, pwedeng pag-lagyan ng marumi mong damit pauwi. But 'hwag naman yung plantsa, mahal yan, mahiya ka! Lalo naman huwag na huwag yung "caja-de-jiero" or security safe hahaha! De kuryente at mabigat yan hoy!
Typical of 5-star hotels, the hangers are of different kinds - for various delicate clothes (if you have)!Hindi rin give-away ang bathrobe ha?! For room use only yan. And, don't go to the pool wearing them!
Ah ito lahat libre! Sige hakutin! Sabon, lotion, shampoo, dental kit, shower cap, "lagayan ng sandwich"!What I mean with "lalagyan ng sandwich" is the "sanitary bag" o sisidlan ng "used" whisper o pasador!
Yuck hahaha!
Towels of all kinds are NOT giveaways. Radisson's rooms have ample, but don't take them home! Those rolls of toilet paper are fine wherever you want to take them. Sige ubusin mo. I learned from my female friends that they bring those when visiting SM. Why? Wala na daw kasi nyan sa mga mall CRs.
Now here's a cute info: In my travels, I also learned from many a hotel staff, that it's not only the 'poor' guests who bring home various amenities (even permanent fixtures) from their hotel rooms! Ay grabe! And it is not only the Pinoys pala, na makakati ang mga kamay! Can you believe, hindi lang iPod Dock o kutsara ang tinitira, minsan pati daw bombilya or even "shower heads" eh ni-nenenok din! MyGaash!
Wait, I am not giving this warning to the dear friend who asked me to describe my Radisson Blu room hahaha! Just timely that I talked to some staff and they told me about such 'interesting phenomenon'!
Anyway, for those not aware, hotel staff do have checklists, such that, when we check-out, front desk calls by phone or radio for housekeeping to check if a room we're checking-out from is still complete!Kung andyan pa yung TV, kama, painting, lababo o inidoro, at kung nilantakan mo yung Pik-nik, Oreo at Mixed Nuts, at kung nawawala ang tuwalya o kabayo - they will relay that for front desk to charge you!
Won't you shrink in embarrassment when, while you are checking-out, frontdesk staff starts searching for one missing hair-dryer from your bags? Tapos nahanap nila nasa loob ng backpack mo kasama pa alarm clock, towel at kutsarita? Good kung pabayarin ka lang o i-confiscate nila. Eh kung ipa-pulis ka?!
Hahaha! Then they discover your stay was sponsored by your employer? Blacklisted buong company!
Anyway, all my dinners were at my favorite "Urban Table" by the grassy garden at the poolside. This baby-back-ribs is to die for. Ang lambot ang sarap. But never again. Ang laki eh, good for 4 yata!Should I be back there with you and you at kayo ang kasama ko, sige go! Matakaw at masiba ako, yes. But that's just too big for me. There'd be no more room in the stomach to order and taste other things!
That's the hotel viewed from down at the garden where I had dinner. My room up there, right corner!
Lower-ground hallway to the elevators. Left is the big wide gym, right is the spa.
Back in my room, before I flicked the room lights on. Same picture as above, but night version! Parking lots devoid of vehicles except for the MyBuses (foreground), and the MyBus Station is still up.
From my other window, a good night-view of uptown Mandaue and Cebu cities, including IT Park. The dark, pitch-black foreground is SM City's vast roof - it also looks good when it's dark hahaha!
Let's go to another 5-star hotel. I'm not joking, I did this in succession!
