Rosario's Kitchen and Café
Another fairly new (to me) restaurant at the Tacloban Astrodome.
Friday night, I arrived late in Tacloban from hinter-mountain-barangays of Burauen. I wanted a sea view dinner, to rest my eyes & soul from depressing scenes of the day.
Driver said "challenge accepted" - as if I did not know, he was heading to Cafe Lucia hahaha! Alas di malas, it was full to every corner, me birthdayhan pang nagaganap!
We ambled forward, rounding the Astrodome although we already knew every place would also be packed with diners - on a Friday night kaka-sweldo lang two days ago!
Both driver and I prefer bars or restaurants facing Cancabato Bay for the views, and we usually park in front of the Samgyupsal place that we never visit - it's always full!
But, voila! A big group of young-and-old folks were just about leaving the restaurant beside Samgyeopsalicious. Driver even ran to grab one of their outside tables haha!
I may be prone to forgetting this-and-that from-time-to-time, but I was sure this was first time I saw that name though also sure I've been at this geographic position. Ta!Driver said maybe this was under another name on our previous visit/s. Yes, maybe.
Well, from their menu entries, and the ambulance (ambiance), I already liked them. I think what made me interested was the "individuality" of meals. Pang-isang tao, 'di pampamilya o pambarangay! Good for us solo travelers (therefore solo diners), right?!
However... hehehe,
They only have 2 kinds of fish in 2 ways of cooking: grilled or kinilaw. I went grilled! It had such an inviting aroma, I immediately dove-in without taking a single picture!
My driver went for the humba without realizing it was on the "For Sharing" column. When it came, we both laughed when he said "ata, family size man ini, buligi ako sir"!
And now, the verdict. Was it a good dinner? This photo will best describe answer. Not in picture (buti naman).., we got an extra cup of rice each! Sabaw pa la, sura na!
By the way, I of course peeped into the insides of the resto, just for curiosity's sake.It has such a cool "homey" appeal you would immediately remember your grandma!
Even from outside, via the big glass wall (French window), it looks like a real home! The guy in there, busy on his phone, is the owner. Said who? Said that, our waitress!
And btw too, while there weren't many more diners, somebody was watching us...She just stood there watching us, not coming any nearer, but definitely watching us. I even asked "ano im tuyo"? She just looked away, only to return looking at me again!
Oh well, nice place, nice find!
MacArthur!
[that means "I shall return"]!
