Kinabuchs Grill and Bar

Refreshed with a bit of rest at Purple Fountain Courtyard Inn after arrival from our Honda Bay Island Hopping Tour, we trooped to Kinabuchs Grill and Bar for dinner (I  booked this in advance, for 20 pax).
For some of us who were not first-timers in Puerto Princesa, it was such a pleasant surprise, that this "restobar" still looks generally the same as it was a decade ago - particularly that neon signage. Yey!

The spacious parking lot (though all-concrete now) and the wide projection screen are still the same!
Nostalgia: I remember having watched an NBA Finals on that screen years ago, on a drizzly night! Da!

But a pleasant surprise (for me), their eating areas already expanded towards the front, near the road!
That's where they blocked a row of tables for us - which the best as this was (also) a drizzly evening.

The wall of this newer hut is tastefully decorated with vintage thigns, but the roof is "bahay kubo"..,
Why the motorbike on the wall you may ask? Ah, one of the owners of this fine place was a motocross star in the '70s / '80s (he's not American btw, Pinoy 'yan of Russian blood). That's one of his old bikes!

Anyway..,

And our dinner came - the usual Kinabuchs bestsellers! For me, the 'crispy pata' is their signature dish, though I know many of my friends claim it is sisig. But both dishes, (add the grilled chicken) plus their "daing fried rice" are to die for just the same! Don't forget their 'baby back ribs', the "sauce" is heavenly!

But for this visit.., my most memorable fares that appeared on the table was/were..,

1) Pizza - amid all the rice and all the above, plus other dishes! Carbo-night ini! Da!
This was a first time for me to eat pizza, not before nor after, but during a dinner entrée (main course)! And I was so surprised that I liked it haha! Thanks to the bagets in our group who insisted on "pizza"!

2) Tamilok! The fried kind easily disappeared from the table.., but the "raw" (wet) thing.., ayan o!
Note that the photo was taken towards the end of our dinner, and look! That "tamilok" was still quite a bit untouched! It happened that we were a bunch of "non-adventurous" diners. Not for "tamilok" hehe!

Well, as it was years ago, Kinabuchs is still a good place to have dinner in Puerto Princesa!
