Jolly Panda
Dinner today was at Jolly Panda - a little fusion Pinoy, Chinese, Asian restaurant that is getting a following these days, especially with the younger budget conscious generation. Kasama ako dyan! Yes, apil ko diha! Walang kokontra! Walag basagan ng trip!
For a time now, this has been my "go to" place when I find the SM City Cebu restaurants too crowded. Because, Jolly Panda is just across the street (A Soriano) facing Mabolo. Yep, inside the APM Mall.
The food? Ah, so far, everything I have tasted is so sleep-inducing *wink wink* damn tastily good! You will dream of being on a hammock by the beach, after trying out their food, which is generally cheap compared to the usual 'bongga' and big wide Cebuano-Chinese joints with big round tables for 10 hahaha!
Before...
After...
Now just to manage your expectations dear readers... this is not a 'sosyal' Chinese resto.More of a karenderia if you compare this to all the Chinese restaurants in this country. As I said above, there are no 'big round tables for 10' so you can host your Sunday family lunch. In fact, there are fewer than 10 rectangular tables for 4. But the food is good!
Their menu is not also leather-bound. Many are naka-dikit sa dingding just like this...Or naka-dikit sa glass facing the street, like in the previous picture above! With actual photos and names written in both Chinese and English haha! But the food is good!
Ah, and this is probably why the younger folks like coming here..Ayan, photos of just about anyone who wish their faces to be pasted on that wall hehe! One time, I even told the cashier (I think she is also the proprietor), "ilagay nyo rin sa FB ang pictures na yan"! But the food is good!
Aw, about that cashier (who I think is also the owner), her language indicates to me that she is not Pinay. At least, trying hard siya mag-Tagalog or Bisaya. Basta tunog banyaga. At mukhang alagang Ly-Na o ChinChanChu whatever ang mukha! But the food is good!
Oh well, there goes one of my secrets again. Good for them. Bad for me, since I know the place will get crowded hehe! But the food is good - and affordable, unsaon man hahaha!
