Peak Travel For Election Day

I normally don't travel far from wherever my homebase is, the week before and after a Philippine National Elections. That's safety precaution for me because... alams na!

I do move around, especially for urgent errands. Today, Saturday, was an example.

I happened by Tacloban's Transport Terminal and was surprised to see long lines.
Though I already had an inkling, I still asked around why the very long snaking lines. I was actually curious as to where these multitudes of people were "going home" to!

The answer... Basey 100% - as in all of them!

In fact (this was about 2:30PM) I discovered too, that there were no more scheduled (aka regular) trips to anywhere else other than that said town - about one hour away.

Oy, at first you might think 'what a sorry sordid pathetic situation' (I did)! But oh, when I started randomly asking those (who I thought were approachable enough) in line...

The fun and funny "learning" began!
- Many were going home to vote on Monday.
- A "long weekend" for many youngsters.
- It was "half-day" for many workers.
- "Badil" was the main reason!

The best was when a jolly lady asked me: "ano ka, media"? I said "no, just curious, but I'm a blogger, not a vlogger". And she said "don't quote me, pero sayang baya an badil"!

And the line became so boisterously fun. Everyone was laughing and had their own words to say about the election and the "badil". Some mentioned rumored amounts!

Okay, I'll stop talking now. Lessons learned!
