Vientiane Walk - Embassy Of Brunei Darussalam

In the previous story, I said I stood in front of the police station for some moments, as I was appreciating something that looked imposing. This was it across the road.

A cluster of lovely-looking colonial-style buildings in a security-gated compound.

While appreciating it (from across the road), that gate opened to let a car out. I ran to cross the street, and that startled the 2 guards (at left). One shouted "hey hey, why"?
I was too late, that gate was already closing fast. So I stopped to answer that guard with "take picture, inside". He smilingly said "come back opening time, 8AM, go inside"!

I realized only now as I write this, that what I did (running towards a closing gate with armed guards), was a dangerous thing to do. Eh kung nabaril ako dahil nabigla sila?

Ayay my gash abelgash!

But I silently said "paano ako ka-comeback eh I have things to do"! So, eto nalang piniktyuran ko ng very clear - the pader sa gilid of the kalsada heheh!
Haay, kill me if you must, but that is the only respectable picture I got (other than my handsome selfies) hahah! That's the external face of the fence right beside the gate.

But I must tell you, it's a lovely looking compound. Head turner kumbaga! Para kang naglalakad sa isang posh village. At, namalayan ko naka-shorts at sinelas lang ako!

Go pa rin! Kinuha sa confidence ng face-value!

Oh, because I was in front of it, I searched for information about what I was facing - style plane-spotting ba and yes I got interesting snippets about this Brunei embassy!

Sample: that property was built circa 1993 when Laos and Brunei established their diplomatic relations. The buildings (yes plural yan) were a result of a design contest.

Maritess: the external look observed restraint na 'wag masapawan ang katabi nya!

O di ba?!

All above, plus this below, already prove I was right in opting to stay at Ibis Hotel.
Imagine naman, steps away from the hotel, there are already so many things to see!

That 'house' btw, isn't anymore part of the embassy. It is next, after the alley at right.

Eto pa: at the end of that alley at right, kumbaga sa likod na ng Brunei embassy, is an office/building of the World Bank facing the Mekong River. I am sure maganda yun!

Ah anyway, back to the pic above, it's actually already one of the buildings of the...

Ay, next blog entry na, medyo mahaba eh!
