Vientiane Walk - A Century-Old Hospital

Let's continue with my eastward walk, still on Setthathirat Road.

Back of the Ho Phra Keo Museum, across Mahosot Road, a hospital. Or is this?
Too big for a medical clinic, kinda old for a hospital, yet that logo on the wall says all. I walked on anyway, going left on that picture. Ho Phra Keo is the white wall at right.

Hmn, this medical place has many buildings (these below, at right) all at just 2 levels.
Intermission muna: that tall fence (at left) is a side of the French Embassy grounds. Entrance to that ultra-expansive embassy grounds is way up ahead after turning left.

Anyway...

Left or right, all I could see were very wide, fenced, and tree-lined compounds. But, I was not at all complaining. This was such a nice walk - me manang metro aide pa o!

Reaching the waiting shed behind manang.., confirmed, it's Mahosot Hospital pala!
Not sure if this shed is a standard in Vientiane, but just a glance, I immediately said taob lahat ang waiting shed sa Pilipinas natin - all because, there is "real" information.

Sa atin, puro ka-epalan ang makikita mong kunwari information sa mga waiting shed. Sa kanila, really useful location maps and travel direction, plus touristic information.

Isn't that quite a lesson? Another something for us to emulate. Sa Laos lang yan ha!

BTW, Mahosot Hospital is the oldest, still standing hospital of Laos - since 1903. Just too bad that this construction wall was the most I could see of this wide compound.
Huwag ka nang mag-tanong, sasagutin kita: yes, oo, korek, tumpak, ho-o ah! They are also here. They are helping Laos rebuild this hospital - topped with a helipad. O diba!

If I earlier said all structures I saw were just 2 levels high, wait for this one. Ah, I saw information that says China is 'helping' them build 5 buildings within this compound, one is 9-storeys, topped with a roofdeck helipad. Hmm, bibigyan din ng 'polopokter'?

Ah yan yung na-news noong bumisita dito si pingpingping last year! Grant daw yan.

Diagonally crossing the intersection of Setthathirat Road (itong me mga sasakyan) and Sakarine Road, I turned around to look back at this hospital compound again...
Nothing much to see yet, other than that equipment. But I earlier saw that there was more progress at the inner portion (to the left on Sakarine Road). A tall wide building.

At this point I realized Masohot Hospital is actually quite expansive. Imagine I came walking from the old clinic-like building, way back there behind those many vehicles.

In fact, tumawid pa ako pabalik dyan sa kanto malapit sa mamang naka-helmet and looked to the right (like he's doing). Aw, malaki malawak mahaba ang hospital na yan.

Looks like that side of Sakarine Road (where the helmeted guy is looking) will be their new awesomized hospital's front when everything is done. Target daw nyan is 2020.

Aba oi, the news said it's not only buildings that China is providing to the institution. Kasama daw sa ibibigay mga gamit pang-ospital, pati training ng medical staff nila.

Let's wish them luck. Sana maganda maayos magaling ang kalabasan nyan!

Okay, let's keep walking eastward!

Hey, it was only at this point I realized, that Setthathirat Road is one-way eastward - it's a wise move I suppose, since as you can see, their streets are rather still narrow.
