Patong Beach, Morning Walk

Good Morning Phuket! I said that as I went out of HIE walking to the beach, just a few meters away.

Mornings are wonderful at this beach. The sea is highlighted since the sun rises from the back. And it is still easy to see most of the entire expanse of Patong Beach as the beach umbrellas are not yet up.
Can you see that guy on foreground? There's something like a stick above his head, right? That, is one of those umbrellas (for a fee) that when opened later by the 'proprietors' will give him a needed shade.

When I looked to the right.., many umbrellas were already 'installed' but only one was opened so far.
They're very convenient. And coupled with the foam mattresses, are comfy a perch on the beach. But not good for those trying to take pictures of the length of the beach. If you're one of them, come early!

Otherwise, you'll have to be near the water, if you don't want umbrellas in the way. Still a good view!
Yeah, still good views even if you move nearer the water itself. Why? Because they have a rule (law?) on where and how one can stick those umbrellas. You can't do it just anywhere! They are orderly here!

So there is still enough space for beach-goers to do whatever it is they want to do, to enjoy the beach.
Katulad ni Lola.., uhu kitaa na gud! I think she's catching all of the sun's rays. Walang basagan ng trip!

Look! This is how their public toilets and bathrooms look like. Grabe, mas malinis pa sa hospital natin!
The blue thing at left is a vending-machine style turnstyle. You drop coins for it to turn and let you in. It doesn't use electricity. Once in, you could already do your thing. Rinse up after the beach. Convenient!

You see that window at right? That's the 'office' of the cleaners where you should give the payment!
For just 25 baht, you can use the toilet and take a shower. Handy if your hotel is far from this place!

As the morning went by, more of those markers for the umbrellas to be pitched kept appearing..,

I was not bothered as I already took photos. Jetskis starting to run were more of a concern for me..,

"A concern" because nainggit, naglalaway ako! So I called on that manong operator (leftmost jetski)..,

Here here, this is manong operator and the apple-green-colored wave runner assigned to me. Leshgo!
Okay.., the 'rigors' of traveling solo. Sometimes, there are just things you want to take a photo or video of, but you can't possibly do it. Especially that I'm not good with selfies - maybe because I don't like it!

Having said that.., you my dear readers will just have to imagine I went riding jetskis haha! It costs just same as in the Philippines, btw. Half an hour is 1,000 baht which is roughly about 1,500 pesos sa atin!

By the way, I remember, sometime ago I was discussing with one of you my dear readers, about that infamous "jetski scam" in Thailand and other countries. I have my ways of avoiding being victimized!

=== But the easiest precaution is: when in doubt, don't!

It's fun riding those 'toys' especially in the mornings when it's not yet crowded!

After the rides, I returned to my spot on the sand since early morning. To my right, it got a little busier.

Front and center, it also became a little interestingly busier..,

To my left, OMG, starting to look like Divisoria! At least there's nothing like that (yet) in the Philippines!

The crowding was fine and timely for me to have seen! I had to go attend a lunch meeting anyway!
So I got up and walked back to Holiday Inn Express Patong. No need to use the public toilet or bath.

On my walk back to HIE, I saw that, just across the public bathroom is this gate pala..,
I was curious and really wanted to go inside, to see what it looks like. But.., I was alone.., takot ako!

Hey I noticed this since yesterday.., the sidewalks and walking paths have this nice and simple 'logo'!
Wala lang. I just think walang ganyan sa atin. Ang style kasi sa bayan natin eh tatadtarin ng pangalan ng mga tanginang "epal" na nakaluklok. Kung hindi magkasya isiksik (dahil sa dami nila), eh huwag na lang daw! Unlike the above picture or here or here, you don't see any names. Bakit umiinit ang ulo ko?

Haay anyway, let's roam more around Phuket, in my next stories!
