Cebu Pacific Boarding At Mactan
This is not only a question of fairness or cruelty. This is probably already disrespect to humanity, and should be illegalized as it is not stipulated in their terms of service.
Here's the story:
I was on a Cebu to Tacloban flight today. I thought everything was normal and fine naman, until they boarded passengers - where I saw something 'shamefully brutal'.
Passengers seated on the front-half board normally via the aerobridge, while those seated at the rear-half must go down the emergency stairs of the aerobridge, walk on the tarmac to the tail section of the plane, then climb up to the rear aircraft door. A blue guard is ceremoniously posted at that area near the door to strictly drive rear passengers down to the bare pavement, by checking each and every boarding pass.
That's unacceptable for many reasons. The hell we care if it's "to facilitate boarding".
It is not proper. It is unfair to passengers seated at the back because they were not pre-advised about it during ticket booking or check-in, yet they paid the same fares.
Ang puso ko? OA lang ako? Not really.
My window seat was at the emergency exit - halfway from front to back. Hindi ako kasali sa pinapababa, yet this procedure hurt me, because it's dumb and capricious.
Kung ano lang maisip ng mga nag-gagaling-galingan na opisyales ng Cebu Pacific.
Okay lang for some "first timers" siguro, because they would probably consider that as 'normal', but that's taking undue advantage. Dahil ba mangmang, aabusuhin na?
Maybe also okay lang for younger passengers na mahilig mag-kodakan. But not all.
I was concerned about some who had to endure this physical abuse. Napilitan sila. That last one (priest pa nga yata as I interpreted his collar) was obviously not a happy passenger having to go through all that unnecessary walk. Cebu Pacific, STOP this!
Let's be a little technical...
That unnecessary walk is going down via stairs of an equivalent to 3 building levels. They must climb up again, at the other end of their tarmac walk, to board this plane.
Are the stairs even rated for regular passenger use? Iba ang for emergency only ha?
But there was nothing wrong with their plane nor this airport nor the airline industry. The aerobridge was working fine. Boarding methods have been scientifically tested.
Meaning? Meaning a boarding time duration of just 30 minutes, if properly executed, can accommodate all passengers of a full flight, using that 1 aerobridge. Tested yan.
If you want to make it faster kasi nag-ga-galing-galingan kayo, fine & kudos! Just not at the physical expense of passengers seated at the back but not the front. Mali yan.
Mali because the fare is not different and you don't pre-advise passengers about it.
Where is "freedom of choice" and/or "opt-out" option? Nakakapagod yan oy!
In fact, why are you not doing that same idiotic procedure at other airports such as MNL, SIN, HKG, DVO, etc., kung talagang need nyo yan? Nag-e-experiment pa kayo?
At the expense of the paying public? Hindi mga hayop yan oy!
