Many of you, dear readers, won't anymore know what this instrument is! I mean: 'di nyo na yata inabot'! That is why I took this picture. To capture the recent-past!

Oist FYI pinagtitinginan ako while I shot that pic! People curiously glanced at me as I stood there, take aim, and clicked!

Ahh hehehe, the PLDT Payphone - one of the few that still remain. I was even surprised to have encountered one, today March 30, 2014!

Sa SM City Cebu yan. Syempre wala nang gumagamit. Oy, aba me dial tone pa! Buhi pa!

That gadget, once-upon-a-time the lifeline of many humans in-love or in-business, is now forgotten, overshadowed by the cellphone!

I should know... because I incidentally come from a generation of Pinoys born and raised during its prominence, until imminent death!

Bakit, patay na ba ang landline?

Well, naghihingalo na, di ba?!

I can anyway tell you, that until the late 1990s or even the early 2000s, it was essential for us travelers to know how to use them heheh!

Nowadays, pang-museum na ang mga yan.

Ah, lots of life-stories about the talepano.

Setting Foot on Potipot

Hah! Your PinoyTraveler finally made a go at this alluring little island one hot weekend. I realized the fun was not only at the island but also during the ‘going to’ and ‘coming from’! What and where is this Potipot anyway? Potipot is a tiny island where there’s nothing but creamy white sand, some little rocks and stones, trees, grass, bushes and shrubberies. That’s it! No one lives there but tourists have started frequenting it. The island offers a spectacular view of the Zambales coastline & the China Sea plus a tranquil environment you will want to make sure that your ‘quickie nappie’ or ‘serene siesta’ does not progress to a deep slumber well into the night hehe! It’s about a mile off the shores of Uacon, Candelaria, Zambales. If you want to get technical, the island is at 15° 40.700N and 119° 55.410E! Calbayog Jeep or Tricycle?

Lets scrutinize this photo that I took at the Calbayog public market. Tricycle, right? Yep, its a motorbike at center so its a tricycle. But that's just it, about this thing’s being a trike! Actually, if you count, there are four wheels, so it is technically already a quadcycle hehe. And for all intents and purposes, it acts and serves the public like a jeep! Notice the rear tires, those are of the jeep or car types! Its not also a tuktuk, since it has no reverse gear – and it does not, can not fly on the road! Its the Calbayog version of long-haul tricycles for trips to distant barangays. Ironically (to me at least), this thing is called the "Center Cab" because, driver says, the motorbike is at center if the caja (cab)! No, they don't use it for transport within the city center since they have another vehicle for that – the real tricycle that is pedal-powered!
