Still at the Aliwan Fiesta, I saw this kid from Lumad Basakanon (Cebu), and that is his ID bearing his real name!


Oh well, the die-hard fans of our times… when they become parents!

Enchanted River, Brgy. Talisay, Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur "What a river" - you can use that expression to mean so many things. Let's start with this.., That's not a metropolis parking area. That's the road - about a kilometer before - the Enchanted River! I was already "pre-warned" by my driver that the place would definitely be more crowded than Tinuy-an Falls, but I didn't expect it to be this crazily crowded at 10:27AM. If you arrived in a 4-wheeled vehicle and this late, you'll be unfortunate to be walking about a kilometer from where you may park your car. Those who come in motorcycles have a shorter way to walk - only about half a kilometer hahaha! That's because motorbikes are allowed to a certain nearer point to drop passengers and/or load, then exit back to a designated parking area. Hola Almeria!

We are not in the Meditteranean, okay? We are just in the province of Biliran, Philippines! But yes, this Almeria took its name from that Spanish 'original' hehe! This town is not far from Naval. I think it only took us about 5 minutes driving our motorbikes at leisurely speed. Beautiful tree-lined road exiting Naval, then some rice fields left and right, then a similarly lovely entrance to the town of Almeria! Are those called century trees? They look stoically beautiful lined on both sides of the highway. Not very clear in this picture, but that thing far down the road is a welcome arch to "Poblacion Almeria". That is their municipal hall. Cute. But I had a hard time taking photos as the sun was still harshly behind it. Ideal photo-ops time would probably be from noontime to afternoon, but I was there early at just a little past 8AM. I think (not sure) their church is even bigger than the municipal hall. Accidental Visit to 'UP Palo'

Not as if I knew that it is/was there, although I heard from long ago that there is a University of the Philippines Campus in Palo, Leyte. And we accidentally saw how it now looks, after Yolanda / Haiyan. We came from a meeting in Tanauan (Leyte), and passing by Palo, one of my companions wanted to see the church where Love Añover was seen on her on-sight GMA news report during the height of Yolanda's wrath. So we went to the Palo Cathedral. Thereafter as we walked about, I saw an "oble"! Yes, The Oblation monument, the symbol of University of the Philippines System... Curious, I walked the few steps crossing the little street from the Palo Cathedral, and my companions followed me, also wondering why there was an "oble" here. Incidentally, all seven of us are UP Alumni, and we only came to know about that at this very instance! Everyone's first reaction was... silence! Only I broke that prolonged silence when a guard came by and I asked him questions.....
