Beware of JAM / Tritran Bus

Readers should all be aware of this when going to Puerto Galera or any of the destinations en route to Batangas City! There is an anomaly that the bus company (or probably just their employees and without the management’s knowledge) has been perpetrating. Last February 25, 2005, being a holiday, I, together with three of my friends decided to go to Puerto Galera for a much needed weekend break. We decided to take a JAM/Tritran bus by reason of its station being conveniently located at EDSA near Kamuning which happens to be nearest our residences. This decision to take Tritran ruined our weekend! We were at the bus station as early as 5:30AM so we can take the 6AM trip. We happily rode on bus number 727, a yellow JAM liner. The aircon was great – even too cold and the bus was clean. It got readily full to capacity so we left by just about 5 minutes past 6AM. Sunday Mass At Gamay Church

I came chauffeured c/o Sonny, you know that from my last story ! So, I arrived here: He wanted to drop me off at walking paths on either side, so I would be nearer. But I requested that I be 'ejected' here! He instantly got it and even said aw picture-picture ! That's the St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church of Gamay Northern Samar . The park likely belongs to the church, as with many towns and cities in the Philippines. I say that because there is the statue of St. Michael the Archangel in the very middle. Notice that where that statue stands is a street, but I guess not for big vehicles: I went to that 'plaque' (or whatever that is called) , expecting I would read something about San Miguel or the parish or why he is the patron saint. Aruy, wara mana wara! It's just a very detailed, meticulously written monument of " epal ity" ! Hahaha, oo hindi lang politicians ang epal sa atin! What’s wrong with my umbrella?

Another reader sent me email just recently asking why her umbrella was ‘confiscated’ at the airport. I received similar messages in the past and we better get this out to everyone for clarity. While you may think those concerns are petty (yes, they usually are since some umbrellas can be bought at just 11 pesos), some of the concerns are not really about umbrellas but the integrity (if any) of airport personnel. Here we go… The recent email sender says the officer at the second x-ray (airport people call it “security check area”) asked her to remove the ‘folding umbrella’ from her laptop-case and kept it telling her it was not allowed. Our passenger further says she was surprised it was taken just like that, but did not anymore bother since this was a military man she was in front of and the umbrella costs only about P150.
