Alangalang Glide-By

Just passing-by for a quick consultation with one of my contacts in this town that has a vivid imprint in my heart. I remember this town as a total wreck when I came days after Yolanda (first 4 pics here).

Oh, I now know that this town's name is written "Alangalang" but pronounced "alang-alang".

And as we can all see.., the town has slowly started to become beautiful again. And even "bigger"!
the new administration building of Alangalang Leyte
Written on big bold letters at that far side, it says NEW ADMINISTRATION BUILDING. Oh ha! But I don't know where the old one might be, and am not looking for it! I do know, their MDRRMO is in there now.

Their fire department is new too - since nothing was left of their old structure anyway..,
Every little thing in this town had to be rebuilt, since every little thing was actually Yolanda-flattened.

Just look at this arch and there's already a church again, and compare that to the second pic here..,

I shot this pic from the munisipyo side. That road that crosses in the middle is the national highway!

Streets are wide and clear again. Even their new colorful 'daily commuter vehicles' are orderly parked!

Like everywhere else, almost all new pedicabs are donations from kind hearted people of the world!

Oh they were able to resurrect the grand cuteness that was their era-type municipal hall! Nice!

Here's a closer look. the roof of the main building awaits a new paint job. But it is coming soon!

There was no church. Only a mangled facade remained after Yolanda. But look at it now!

Everything about their town management's infrastructure are rising from the ruins..,

Oist! I have tsismis! Hush lang muna.., but I overheard two little birds chirping beautiful songs..,
Their melodies were to the tune of seeing some "usually urban only" things coming to this area soon!

Hush lang muna.., let's keep it a sekreeet.., pero abangan!

Ah, outside of town, towards the town of Sta. Fe, I saw the ricefields again..,

Too goddamned picturesque, especially during the afternoons when the golden sun behind you..,

Ganda ever so much 'no?!

We'll see more of this stretch of the highway as am sure I'll keep passing this way many more times.

Meanwhile let's go back to my joyride from Calubian to Tacloban. It's about to end na!
