Tanghay View Lodge

Primarily the views are something to savor in this place...

That across, is the historic Tubabao Island. Where the "White Russians" lived for many years...

If you don't know, just search google for those words. That was the reason I wanted to visit that island even earlier than my 2010 visit. But from my searches and asking around, it came out there's really no tangible memento of them left in that island. Amazingly, they did not even inter-marry with the locals.

That topic was one of my papers in college. A dramatic saga of persecuted people. Pang-movie!

Anyway, this boardwalk is the main draw of Tanghay View Lodge. This is your right-side view...

That's the Port of Guiuan, where the ship is. A few steps from Tanghay's gate if you walk by the street.

This is the left side view. That most distant roof by the water is also a restaurant called Misty Blue.

Misty Blue Boathouse is after that row of boats that looks like a line extending out to the water.

Yes, those are commuter boats for crossing to Tubabao Island!
That dark-bluish haze in the distance is the now infamous Manicani Island. Its being mined. Too bad.

Turn around from that boardwalk and this is what you see... the hotel, the lodge building itself.

There's a dining area beside the lobby, but this open restaurant on foreground beckons, for the views.

This is their "identity". I took this from inside the lobby, near the stairs. But outside, its the same logo.
"Outside" means the street. It is just behind that wall. Those houses are across the street.

And this is the front desk, restaurant cashier and "tindahan" for little things you may need!
That's also where they brew your coffee, fruits and wine are sold and where you ask for reservations! As of the moment though, don't bother checking as all rooms "cornered" by an aid group - perennialy!

This is where 'menu books' are kept too! If its taking long for a waiter to give you one, get it here!

Everything is your familiar homecooked meals. I like the "Crab omelette" - real fresh crabs! And lomi!

But I got busy eating! So, I don't have any pics of the food other than this...

That bowlful of colors was not even mine! I only had coke. Oh, that cream-and-green "straw" is edible!

So, for the food and the views, I will definitely be back! For the rooms, maybe a year more?!
