Twins Resto Catbalogan
We had dinner last night at a place where many Catbaloganons would probably raise an eyebrow (or both) if they hear this name: Twins Resto. Well, things have changed!
It has been upgraded, and there's a new kind of service - turn left and go to the end.
You will stumble upon this enclosed and air-conditioned "private dining area". Ayos!
If you look at that photo intently, you will realize I took it while already seated inside the room, yet I could see all the goings-on outside. I could hear the band but faintly.
It's an "exclusive" meeting room complete with projectors and the works. Of course you can dine in this "function room" if you wish. We did. They even arrange buffets!
Aw, you just go out to the main hall, if you want to sing and/or dance with the band.
Ay, even the food they serve has also seen upgrades - in presentation and in taste!
There was a dozen of us, but I think that room can fit more. I also didn't 'investigate' if there are other more such rooms on this floor. Yet I saw other retracted partitions.
Meaning the whole place can actually be chunked into separate dining areas divided by those wood-glass panels, especially during the day (for meetings and/or lunches).
That is the 'main change' that happened to this restaurant. Let's wait-and-see if their 'clientele' will also 'upgrade' into the 'general public' instead of the usual 'parag-hubog'!
I'm saying that because... up to the most recent past (before they spruced things up), this was a dark seedy beerhouse frequented by pier folks and their girls for the night.
If you know what I mean. Hira mano ku-an ngani, an mahilig ha masirum nga table! Ta, kay yana, it's not anymore as dark. Kita ka na nga mag-it ka kon hino im upod hahaha!
This time, there's even a "waiting area" right atop the stairs (before you enter), so you can be comfortable before being ushered to a table. That's wonderful to have. Sosy!
O walang kokontra! That waiting area, is now also the only designated smoking area of the whole restaurant. You can't anymore do it just anywhere like before. Ayos yan!
Oy aba, I might be a smoker, but I believe in proper decorum and public order. Bow!

It just looks like there is no more 'wide dance floor' as before, pero oks na yan. Kasi, di na naman siguro basta dali-daling gigiling yung mga kalapati - sa liwanag na yan!
All told, this place has really seen major upgrades.
