Sohoton Visitor's Center & Eco-Lodge

This is your jump-off point if you were going to see the Sohoton Caves. Here arounds, would you also park your (land) vehicles because it's at this point where you hop onto motorboats goin to the caves. If you are wondering why the 'familiar' logos, this is one of those places supported by Ms. Gina Lopez. Let's describe where this place is, starting with this thing they call Wespal Bridge .., "Wespal" is (I think) a sitio in Brgy. Guirang, Basey Samar. Look at the orange arrow. A few steps down is this visitor's center (all pics below), where you register going Sohoton Caves & Natural Bridge Park . But let us describe the rest of the arrows first: The green downward arrow points back to Basey town proper -where most visitors usually come from. The "EsRide" or 'Easy Ride'

This was one of my nicest encounters during this Dumaguete visit. I got a chance to chat with one of the drivers of those ubiquitous “easy rides”. These were a group that plied the route to Dauin. What is an easy ride? Well, it is supposed to be the jeep that we all know. However, it has since been commonly referred to as “easy ride” when the vehicles used became the “multicabs”. Hey, before we proceed any further, take note that many of the common folks in Dumaguete pronounce it “EsRide” (es-ryed) as one word two syllables! I asked the manong driver why it’s called “easy ride” or “esride”. He does not specifically know. He just knows that it is now called so and times ago were referred to as “multicab”. I jokingly asked why “multicab” since there is only one “cab” hehe. The response was an equally jolly “I don’t know with Norkis why they used that name” and we laughed. Exploring Northern Samar's Eastern Seaboard

This was excitingly fun with lots of happy surprises! That means... this will be a long read for you. But as I always do, I'll chunk my stories into a series for ease-of-read ! Alright... where is this place? It's on the northeastern tip of Samar Island. Here... That portion of Northern Samar (Province) has four towns facing the Pacific Ocean. Why go there? Well, why not?
