Captivating Camiguin Sunset

Image
Yes yes... you can probably view this anywhere on the western shores of Camiguin, like from Agoho or Yumbing in Mambajao, all the way down to Catarman and Sagay , probably even the western parts of Guinsiliban . But I opted to do this "watch" at Paras Beach Resort for the memories of where I remember having viewed it last (as in many years ago) - plus, I knew I would have the luxurious comfort of an afternoon snack and a beer (the pizza was a welcome surprise though)! THIS was the reason why I was in such a hurry cruising along since Benoni ! Being a "son-of-a-beach", I like sunsets by the sea than elsewhere. So here we go... Thanks to that boat for providing some kind of an accent! Thanks to this dude for doing his 'muni-muni' right then and there! Listen to the sunset... Hear its silent sigh... As it falls down the horizon... Going... Going... Going... Gone! Hah, I loved this show! Anyway... had a little banter with t

Camiguin Afternoon Run, Northwards to Sagay

Past by Guinsiliban, we head west and northwards to Sagay, Catarman, Mambajao. A Rare Religious Find. Nowadays, seldom do we see Pinoy children wear that way to a Sunday Service, right? Complete with that lacy headgear thing. Very rare! 4:19PM and Mr. Sun was still high up. Cooperative! The doors are inscribed NSTRA SRA DE LA PAZ Nice little chapel. Makes one remember the chapels during the American era - as if I was already alive then hehe! And nice of my shadow to appear on the picture hahaha! Green fields… I think that backdrop is one of the volcanoes. Sagay Municipal Hall. Where? End of the left road! Nice-looking too, right? And it overlooks most of the town and the highway down below (behind me). They even have quite a unique fountain! (that's their church at the back, btw) The tentacles of that big squid are supposed to be ‘spewing’ jets of water! I dreamed of seeing how it is, but maybe they only put it on during fiestas. Hmp! And how clever, they made t

Gliding by Guinsiliban

Almost halfway (but not quite) on my clockwise route circling Camiguin. We last talked about Taguines Lagoon, right? Ah, it is still part of Benoni in Mahinog. Therefore, I haven't even made it to the southmost tip or my halfway mark. And it was already exactly 4:01PM. Awrrrr! Was I gunning for or chasing something? You'll know later! As for now, let's get back on the road for more of what I have seen. Here we go... Another nice old wooden house. Had to take this shot even if I was facing the sun! Oh, that signage for Buahanan Park just looks like its tacked to the house. Its not. It is nailed to the end-post of that bamboo fence! I did ask my guide what is Buahanan Park, and because we were both at cruising speed on each of our motorbikes, he hollered his reply in bisaya - something that meant "nothing important"! Ack! Am sure residents would have heard that, so pressed on the gas faster - lest some of them come out to the road offended hehe! Kuyawa! Nice
