Transiting At Taipei Taoyuan Airport

Image
So I arrived at Taoyuan International Airport from Cebu , just passing-by, transiting to Hanoi, on the way to Danang (cities in Vietnam). These are flights 3 & 4 on my map . No rush. I had enough time to "transfer" at this airport, since I planned well, and that flight from CEB arrived ahead of schedule. Plus I already know my way around here. That said, let me caution those who are not too familiar with transit and/or transfer quirks at Taipei's Taoyuan International Airport ( TPE ) that's usually always too busy. This was 10:23AM at the VietJet check-in counters. ETD: 1230H. I wasn't late. But... That means it took about an hour finding my way from arrival to the departure area. And I consider myself already fast, as I now know my way around this airport. Ikaw? In fact, my delivering flight (CEB-TPE on AirAsia) and receiving flight (TPE-HAN on VietJet) both use T1. Yet, it still took me about an hour to: 'retrieve my baggage' , 'do m...

Iloilo Airport Check-in

Image
This is Part 1 of the Sights & Scenes On My Iloilo To Cebu To Tacloban Flights. The final 2 legs of my Circle Trip , that brought me to Luzon, Mindanao, and back to the Visayas! Yep, flying back home to Cebu , but just in-transit to Tacloban . Let's Go! This was fun "so far" . An uncommon route. 'Di lang lamyerda , me kasamang work ! It went TAC ✈ CEB ✈ MNL ✈ CGY ✈ CEB ✈ CRK ✈ EUQ 🚌 ILO ✈ CEB and ✈ TAC. Ah, I said "so far" , since it's not really done yet! I'm writing this at the Cebu Mabuhay Lounge, waiting to board the last and final flight of this 'circle trip' back to Tacloban. I should be able to post this story tonite , when I have finally arrived. For who knows, other interesting sights and scenes may still occur from now until my arrival, right? Check-in: Iloilo Alright, continuing from the previous story, I went to the PAL check-in counters and got my boarding passes. Plural yes, because I had 2 flights: ...

Transit At Laguindingan Airport (CGY)

Image
I just finished the first leg of my three-legged air-travel. This time, I was transiting in CGY . You know what that means, why and where, right? If you still don't.., go review ! I think I said in the previous story, or previous other stories, that this was a first time I transited at CGY, in modern recorded history! OMG I did not?! So I'm saying it now! At ano nanaman iyang history-history na yan? Well, in the past, I think even as late as the '90s, CGY was already a mini-hub (meaning it had flights to many destinations), so we could transit at that airport. An example would be: MNL-CGY-DVO, two flights . But unlike now, none of the flights I took before were recorded via pics or videos, as digicams & cellphones weren't yet around! Camera film was still too expensive then. At walang pang blog noon! So, therefore wherefore, nothing was really recorded - as far as I was concerned! And, all those were at Lumbia , so this was really a first time. O sya, ...

Panglao International Airport: Departure

Image
Departure time from Bohol Panglao International Airport. I was on my way to Davao. Departure Curbside and Entrance As seen in the previous story , getting off the public bus from Alona Beach, I looked left and saw this: That far end is the arrival area (which I already talked about a few days ago). Across that (left edge of photo) is where you'll find the public bus going to Alona Beach, all the way to Tagbilaran's city center. I could see there's a public toilet between arrivals and departures (door near the woman in red shirt). Good that there is such a thing there, because that is an 'important necessity' - for passengers or not! Then I looked right, which was rather empty (I should've trained the camera a bit more to the right)! Wouldn't it be better if that expanse of a red floor had benches (at-least), for well-wishers to sit on? I mean look, there are people sitting on the crash rails (metallic tubes where the floor and wall meets)....

Out Of Caticlan

Image
My way out of Boracay continues... As earlier said, we arrived at Caticlan Airport (MPH) too early, thanks to the very fast and efficient (yet courteous and jolly) services of Astoria Current Staff. Early but happy - with time for more photo-ops! Look, there were not many people at the airport yet! Our speedboat ride was just very fast (but safe). That manner of transfer btw (via "private" speedboats) would be most ideal for those of you with lots of luggage (they assist you on those), the elderly, and little tykes. Well yes, for the barkada too, to still have fun even as you get out of the island! So far, the best ever exit I've had, from Boracay to Caticlan. The catch: you will have to book your accommodations with hotels/resorts that have "private" boats! Anyway, let's depart from Caticlan (I was on my way to Cebu, with a connecting flight to Tacloban). I didn't reverse my circuitous way coming to this place, because I found that the MPH ...
