Took that pic this afternoon at an eatery called 'Cafe Boujeador' just near the intersection of the main highway and the road that leads up to the 'Cape Bojeador Lighthouse' in Bayog, Burgos, Ilocos Norte! Note: there is no typo in any word above. I reviewed them all hehe! Proof? See below: Cafe - or café. you know what it is Cape - a promontory (into water); headland; etc., (e.g., Cape Of Good Hope) Bojeador - the place; pronounced "boh-ya-dor" Boujeador - the restaurant's name. bakit bawal ba? ha?! so don't make angal na!!!

I was poised to walk the 1km roadway going back to the highway from the Cape Bojeador lighthouse. On a noontime! That’s how I went up there, so it was natural that I do the same going back down. Even if I did not want to cuz its not as if there’s any commute from up there hehe. How I dreamed of having a skateboard at that very time hehe. Imagine, rolling and sliding on a perennially descending good concrete road?! Wow! Okay, as if I know how to ride that thing hahaha! But I was not even 10 meters down on my descent when a trike came from behind and stopped beside me. The smiling driver said “tara sir, ihatid ko na kayo sa baba”. I asked “magkano”. He said “fifty pesos lang”. I said no and continued my walk. He asked me “magkano ba”? I said I actually don’t mind walking but if he will charge me twenty pesos, I’ll hop in. He said “thirty” and okay, I agreed hehe. Hmm, that should have been expensive, but what the hell, my stomach was grumbling! During the ride, I learned from this driver

“Take the bus going to Pagudpud, sir” she said “Where do I get off from that bus” I asked “Any door. I suggest you go to the nearest” "I mean where on the highway should I get off" "Sa gilid ng hiway sir, ask the bus to stop" So there, I got a dose of my own medicine hehe! The hotel’s crews have already adapted to my corny jokes and they were using it on me hahaha! Anyway, they told me to either take a trike or walk one block to Laoag’s St. Joseph bus terminal on Lagasca St. near the corner of Gov. Primo Lazaro. So I walked, and there it was, a minibus station. Gosh! Well, I checked the bus myself and it looked like my long limbs would at least fit just about exactly. Then I told myself, I’m only going to Burgos and that should be just around 50kms, probably just an hour’s ride since the fare was just P60. Hmm, was I lucky? I was not even done looking around this ‘bus station’ and we left – bus not full! Yey! I had a whole row just for my royal highness! Yey! Along

The name traces back to a hero, Father Jose Apolonio Burgos who is the “BUR” in famous acronym GOMBURZA. Father Burgos was born in Vigan as an “insulares” having had a mestiza mother. Anyway, Burgos town in Ilocos Norte’s northwest edge is famous to travelers as it is there where we catch the majestic Burgos Lighthouse also named Cape Bojeador Lighthouse. Its one of the tallest, oldest and actually still in use! The other Burgos town is in Ilocos Sur (still Region 1). Well, rightfully I think since this is the province of the dear martyr. But for the visitor, this town is nothing much than an agricultural place that is landlocked and borders the province with Abra.
