Riding A Lift

What do I mean with "Riding A Lift"?

I am not British, when I say "lift" I do not mean "elevator". I'ma no American too, so I don't mean a free-ride or a "hitch". Nor am I Scandinavian and there's no snow in the Philippines, I don't mean the ski-lift!

I just saw a man having a lift on a fork-lift, I wish the driver lifted that lift. On the national highway!

I was bewilderedly laughing at how can this scene appear in front of my eyes in a remote rural area of Eastern Samar where fork-lifts are seldom seen or even heard of! And it was cruising on the highway!

Also laughing, my driver jokingly "explained": they must have stolen that fork-lift from a warehouse in Tacloban, and was driving with it (in it) going to their barrio in Lapinig Northern Samar. Haha katuyaw!

Anyway.., at least we had a laugh hehe

Virtually everyone in Surigao City is related to this boulevard directly or indirectly! It's such a big thing , they even have a Surigao City Boulevard Development Program and a Surigao City Development Authority . I'm not joking. Those are for real. As in! Carigara Delicacies as Pasalubong

This was still on my joyride from Calubian to Tacloban, we naturally had to pass by Carigara. This time we "stopped-to-shop" oh ha?! My driver promised his three lovely daughters that he would bring home some pasalubong from Carigara, thus the 'shopping'. He went (I followed) to only this roadside store.., Well, he's been a driver for so long a time, I cannot contest his knowledge on where to buy the best of these pasalubongs! There are many stores on this highway strip, and I think they sell the same things! As the driver picked what he had to pick (and haggled with the vendors for more] I clicked hehe! Here's the honest deal about me and these sweets from Carigara - or other sweets from anywhere for that matter: I am not really too keen on any of them, such that I'd crave for, or plan to specifically seek them out. THE Ride from Tuguegarao to Sta. Ana

Alrightee folks! I traveled from Tuguegarao to the northern-most town of Cagayan Valley, that is, Sta. Ana. And, Oh My Gee! I never expected this "mode" of transportation! It was a van, yes. The type and style that we call "UV Express" all over the country. But not the usual that I have seen, even in the more remote areas of the Visayas and Mindanao. This ride was on a piece of "flying junk" hahaha! It started like this... the night before I check-out at Hotel Roma, I asked the friendly front desk staff if there was a better way to go to Sta. Ana. than riding the bus. The very helpful suggestion was, I ride the vans instead of the bus, because, they are purportedly faster and more comfortable. Okay, I thought I would do just that.
