Sinulog Sa Kabataan 2012 Lalawigan

You already know of course… this is a Sinulog competition amongst children from the various towns and cities of the province of Cebu. While these contests are a week ahead (probably to avoid the main festival getting too long), there are always troops here that shine and move on to become winners in that big day.

The parade from capitol to the sports center was a parade of cuteness (see pictures below). The mere appearance of these little kids in such an event already makes everyone smile. The showdown performances? World-class, as Gwen, the governor says. Indeed they are. Kids as they are, each performance of each group is a showcase in itself that many an adult dance troop elsewhere in this country will envy.

Here are ‘some’ things I captured:

Winners? Ah in the elementary division a group from Danao City Caransa bagged it, while in the secondary (high school) division, it was the most awaited Carcar City that expectedly ran with the top honors. Cebuanos from everywhere always await and cheer for these kids that even the genuine-looking smiles seem choreographed. Truly amazing kids!
